Nominations open for heritage awards

Article content

Submissions are being welcomed for the Mayor's Heritage Preservation Awards, a joint project of Heritage Chatham-Kent and the Chatham-Kent Museum.

The awards, to be presented in early 2014, recognize best practice renovations to heritage buildings and projects.

If you have a friend or neighbour or have seen someone working diligently to restore period details to their property, nominate them for a Mayor’s Heritage Preservation Award.

Nomination forms are available at service centres, libraries, museums, and on-line at www.chatham-kent.ca. The closing date for application is Monday, Sept. 2.

Residents can view all of the nominated properties on the Chatham-Kent web site in October. While on-line, vote for your favourite - The People’s Choice.

In addition, Chatham-Kent Council will be granting five awards.
